One of our favorite places to stay! We have stayed here several times and were happy to see that things had not changed. It was as excellent as always. The breakfast buffet was delicious and coffee is great. Emelie McKenzie was extremely helpful on check in and filled us in on local things. She even allowed us to fill our cooler we had with fish, with ice from the hotel because it was a holiday and was hard to get ice.

Best stay for several years, coming back in November. I have been coming to this hotel for several years now. We speak in Prison twice a year. This is the cleanest, nicest, and most relaxing place. I travel a lot or did. Every time I come to Wisconsin to speak, this is the place to stay. Small town vibe! Good food, history. I can't wait to visit in November 2025.

Very pleased All aspects of our overnight stay were very pleasing. Nice, clean room, comfortable king bed, friendly staff, very good breakfast including made-on-the-spot omelets. All for a reasonable rate. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit the Prairie du Chien area.

Excellent Rooms were clean and comfortable. Public areas were also very clean. Breakfast beautifully displayed, plentiful and tasty, quite amazing. Cheese and crackers and ice cream were a pleasant surprise. There to meet up with SPI friends, we were all impressed. A. Schuh, Racine, WI

Perfect place in Prairie du Chien This is a gem of a hotel to stay at. Staff was exceptional. Lobby is beautiful with coffee and water always available. The room was very clean and fresh. The breakfast was way above what you would expect from a hotel of this size. I recommend this as a great place to stay!

Couples weekend away We had a great experience. Every single one of the staff members were so wonderful all way down to the owner! The pool and hot tub were great, and kept clean. Room was clean, bed was comfy. The breakfast really is as great as they say. We will definitely be back!

Accommodating staff and great accommodations We went for a quick couple's getaway. Brenda was so very helpful with our special needs, and gave great suggestions of things to see/do in Prairie du Chien. (The hotel location is convenient to all the downtown sites.) Darla's cooked to order breakfast was wonderful, absolutely delicious. The king bed in our whirlpool suite was very comfortable, firm with a soft topper. And the hotel was very quiet and clean during our stay. We plan to stay here again someday, during the May-October season, when more museums and attractions are open.

Clean and quiet 2 night week day stay in this clean and quiet hotel. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever encountered in our travels. Darla made eggs, omelets, French toast, pancakes to order. Self serve they had oatmeal, potatoes, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, bread pudding, yogurt, granola, banana bread, fresh fruit, cold cereal. Milk and OJ.
3-4 they serve cheese and crackers. 6-7 soup and ice cream. Nice touch! Fireplace in lobby with table and chairs to play games or put a puzzle together. Coffee, hot water and ice water out at all times. Such a nice touch. We didn't use the hot tub or pool area.
Note: no elevator. Request 1st floor if you can't do steps.
We ate at Jones Black Agnus and The Barn. No complaints at either.

Overall wonderful! Everything about this hotel was so inviting and pleasant. Check-in and out process was prompt. The games in the lobby were such a fun touch. Our grandchild loved working the jigsaw puzzle. We all enjoyed the fire, music, cheese and crackers, the chili and ice cream. The pool area is so much nicer than most hotel pools. The breakfast with the chef was incredible. The room was very comfortable - the bath area is a bit crowded, but nothing that we 3 couldn't work around.

Not gluten free friendly The breakfast is amazing as long as you do not have food restrictions. I have celiac and cannot have gluten. Besides the fruit there were absolutely no gluten free options at all. This used to be my favorite hotel to visit before my diagnosis but I don’t know if I am going to come back.
The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were hard.

we will be back stayed here for our fiftyfifth wedding anniversary and enjoyed the whole stay. we were greeted by very friendly staff to a very nice and warm fire with coffee and cheese.our room was very nice and clean as was the whole establishment. the room was very quiet. we were offered soup and ice cream but declined as we were going to the BARN for a steak. we will stay here again.

Highly Recommend! What a great hotel! The staff are very friendly, and everything is modern, clean, and comfortable. Also, the pool and hot tub are wonderful! The icing on the cake is that the complimentary breakfast is outstanding! They have a chef, Darla, that cooks pancakes, French toast, and eggs to order including omelets! On top of all that, they also serve additional hot foods from scratch, and the presentation of the breakfast area looks fabulous! We'll be back!

Best hotel PDC has to offer!! I’ve been staying at the hotel for about 12 years. I don’t even look at other options for my annual Prairie du Chien visit because I always feel at home here. Very clean and welcoming. Darla will make your breakfast experience like no other!!!

Excellent! As advertised, the breakfast at this hotel is phenomenal! Everything fresh, great variety, Friendly and courteous service from everyone, nice amenities in the room and hotel. Cheese and cracker snacks in the late afternoon and an ice cream social in the evening. Entire property is very clean and well-maintained. We will stay here again.

Fabulous night away. We stayed in a whirlpool suite. It was very relaxing. The robes they supplied were sooo soft and cozy. That made my stay so much better!
We brought a bottle of wine and didn't realize it had a cork, thankfully they had an opener down at the front desk.
Our bed was so comfortable we almost overslept.
It was overall a great stay and we will definitely be back!
Our check in was even a great experience. The front desk girl was super nice and knowledgeable.

Five star service The morning breakfast was the best complimentary breakfast we have ever had. We definitely felt spoiled the second we walked thru the front door! Definitely would recommend to stay here and would love to return ourselves.
